About
Experimental archaeology is a Powerful Tool for: 1) Proving various archaeological hypotheses and assumptions Clarifying important details of ancient firing technologies 2) Improving the accuracy of the modern interdisciplinary research methods.
This study has two main goals:
1) to shed more light on the heating/cooling processes by registering a series of experimental firings in different thermal constructions (hearth, single chamber furnace and double chamber kiln); 2) to determine how the firing conditions affect the magnetic properties of different clay types.
