I'm renting an apartment for just a few months and didn't really like the idea that someone I don't know might have a key to my front door. I've done this before. I called a locksmith and had them re-key the lock. Same lock, new keys, the old keys don't work anymore. I don't mind the expense, I sleep better. When I move out I'll give the new keys to the owner. Like I said, I've done this before. So I also know that this locksmith gave me a reasonable price for the job because I do know how much it should be.
