Restauratieatelier Haarlem is a professional studio for paintings conservation specialized in old master paintings. Our studio consists of two paintings conservators: Lousco Grasman en Richard Hartskeerl

The decision to restore a painting is a serious decision. Therefore it is good to acquire as much information regarding a painting as possible.

There can be many reasons why you want a painting to get treatment. Either it be a disturbing yellowed varnish, flaking paint or discolored old retouching - a good explanation about the condition of the painting and the result that can be expected after treatment is important. Many things are unknown to customers. That is why we offer free examination and inquiry. After we examined the painting in our studio we can also write things down so you'll be able to take some time to think things through.

When a decision is made to let a painting get treatment we will fully document all our actions and used materials. Before, during and after treatments will be documented in writing as well as in pictures so you will be able to follow what has been done. Treatments will be done in good consultation. Our years of acquired expertise, academic knowhow and excellent network in our field of work garantee you the best possible and cost aware results.

Our studio has experience for over twenty years and is academically trained in paintings conservation. We are specialized in old master paintings and work for museums, institutes, art dealers and private owners. Our studio is well equipped, climatized and secured and is located in Haarlem.
